Image Converter

Convert images between PNG, JPEG and WebP without sending them anywhere. Choose the output format and quality, preview the result and download one file or a ZIP.

Local processing. Your files stay on your device — this page never uploads or stores them.

Supported conversions

The converter reads PNG, JPEG and WebP input and writes any output format your browser can actually encode. It checks encoder support instead of assuming every format works. Typical desktop and mobile browsers support:

InputOutput
PNGJPEG, WebP, PNG
JPEGPNG, WebP, JPEG
WebPPNG, JPEG, WebP

Older browsers may not offer WebP output. In that case the option is not shown, because a silent PNG fallback would be misleading.

Transparency and quality

PNG and WebP can carry transparency; JPEG cannot. When converting an image with transparency to JPEG, transparent areas are flattened onto a white background. For other outputs the alpha channel is preserved.

JPEG and WebP use the quality slider. Higher values keep more detail and produce larger files. PNG is lossless, so quality does not apply.

Conversion re-encodes the image. It is not a lossless container swap, and repeated conversions can accumulate compression artefacts. Keep the original source file.

When to convert

  • PNG → WebP for smaller store graphics without visible quality loss.
  • PNG → JPEG for photographic marketing images where transparency is not needed.
  • JPEG → PNG when a workflow requires a lossless container, accepting a larger file.
  • WebP → PNG or JPEG when another tool or store upload does not accept WebP.

Batch conversion

Add up to ten images, choose the output format and quality, then download individual files or a ZIP. Everything is decoded and encoded in your browser; no file contents are transmitted.

Frequently asked questions

Which formats can I convert between?

PNG, JPEG and WebP. The output list only includes formats your browser can encode; if WebP encoding is unavailable, it is not offered rather than silently substituted.

Does converting upload my images?

No. Decoding and encoding happen entirely in your browser. No image, filename or pixel data is sent to AppScenes or any third party.

What happens to transparency when converting to JPEG?

JPEG has no alpha channel, so transparent areas are flattened onto white. Convert to PNG or WebP if you need to keep transparency.

Is format conversion lossless?

Only when the source and target are both lossless and no pixel changes occur. Converting to JPEG or WebP re-encodes and can introduce artefacts. Keep the original file.

Can I convert multiple images at once?

Yes, up to ten per batch. You can download each converted file individually or all of them as a ZIP archive.
